Abstract
A field experiment was conducted to study the effect
of different concentrations of Potassium sulfate (0, 1.5, 3.0 and 4.5 g/L in
several application namely 6, 9 and 12 times) at variety of chili namely TM 999
on the plant height and yield. A plot of 50 X 12 meters was divided into 30
subplots of 280 cm x 120 cm, and the experiment was done in three replicates
using the using a non factorial randomized design with main plot being chili
varieties and concentration as the sub plot. Result showed that increase in the
concentration of Potassium Sulfate, there was steady increase in plant height
and yield as compare to untreated plant. Among of concentration on the plant
height to showed that K1, K2, K3 and K4 significantly as compare to K5, K6, K7,
K8 and K9, but K3, K4, K5 and K6 were not significantly among them. Following
the higher concentration of Potassium Sulfate was to positive correlation in
yield which the better yield in K9. As compare to among concentration in yield,
so that Ko significantly different with all treatment. Therefore, K1 and K2 as
different as K3, K4, K5, K6, K7, K8 and K9, while K5, K6, K7, K8 was not
different among them, and the same with K8 with K9. On the other hand,
application Potassium Sulfate with the higher concentration can increase plant
height and yield in chilli variety TM 999 with the better concentration at K9
(4.5 g/L with 12 times application).
Key words :
Potassium Sulfate, plant height, yield, chilli, variety TM 999
